What families should know BEFORE registering for tryouts:
1. Regent's goal is for every player to be successful (i.e., have fun, compete, meet new friends, and improve soccer skills).
2. There are 2 program options for the 11U-14U age groups.
These programs differ in cost and committment.
It is important to understand these differences before committing to a program.
3. Why do we have tryouts?
Tryouts ARE a Placement Tool
Tryouts ARE NOT a Judgment Tool to exclude or drop players.
4. In order for a MAYSA roster to be approved, ALL players are required to have -
5. Any player who wants to play in the Blue Program MUST be registered for Tryouts and be evaluated, even if they are unable to attend their age group's tryout dates.
6. There will be a Tryout Informational Meeting via ZOOM before tryouts (typically in May - exact dates TBD).
7. Tryout registration is NOT the same as program registration - they are separate registrations with separate fees.
1. Tryout registration fees must be paid in full by the 1st day of tryouts - whether online or onsite.
2. Each age group will have 2 nights of tryouts (1.5 hrs each night)
3. Players are expected to come prepared and ready to play
4. Parents are encouraged to stay for the Parent Meeting held as soon as players take the field on the 1st day of each age groups tryout
6. Make sure contact information is up to date in PlayMetrics in the event we need to reach you during tryouts
1. An "Offer letter" will be sent to each player's parent or guardian via PlayMetrics.
2. Once an offer is made, players have 24 hours to accept or decline.
3. Regent uses tryout evaluations to place ALL players who register for Blue Tryouts.
ALL players will receive an offer for the upcoming playing year on one of the following teams:
4. Uniforms are on a 2-year cycle - Fall 2024 was the start of a new cycle year.
5. A team meeting (coaches, parents, & players) will be held shortly after teams are formed to go over expectations and team logistics (identify a team manager, discuss practice plans & tournaments, etc.)
6. Additional payments will be due to the team manager typically before the start of each season to cover coach, referee, and tournament fees
ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES 24 HOURS BEFORE THE FIRST NIGHT OF EACH AGE GROUP'S TRYOUT.

Players are eligible to try out for 11U and older teams
Tryouts take place toward the end of the Spring season (for the next playing year)
High School players do not have in-person tryouts. Players who are interested in playing for Regent during the club season sign up in PlayMetrics to receive an offer.

Once a player is registered for a Regent team, that player is committed to the club for the seasonal year (8/1 – 7/31). The WYSA player transfer policy takes effect at this time.
Regent does not hold in-person tryouts for High School teams.
Instead players "sign up" to indicate their interest to participate on a Regent HS team.
Regent HS Girls' teams play in the Fall only
Regent HS Boys' teams play in the Spring only
